Between January 2020 and May 2020, Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging (CMAA) will be conducting Census 2020 outreach. CMAA received a grant from the Massachusetts Secretary of State Census Division and the Massachusetts Census Equity Fund to be able to reach out to older adults in our service areas. We need you to fill out the 2020 Census!
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
By taking the U.S. 2020 Census you will be informing the government of what is important to you, in terms of services and needs, and will be used to make funding decisions each year. An undercount could compromise funding for seniors for the next decade – for services like Meals on Wheels, home care, transportation, housing, elder services, etc. An accurate count of each age population is very important to secure funding of services that you need. Your responses are safe and secure.
How can you take the 2020 Census?
CMAA will be out in the community between January and May 2020. Check with your Senior Center director for what dates we will be visiting your Senior Center for you to be able to have our assistance in filling out the 2020 Census. You can also take the census online, by phone or by mail. By April 1, 2020, every home will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. Visit https://2020census.gov/ to take the census and for more information. If you would like to get in touch with CMAA directly, please contact Ethan Belding at 508-852-5539 or via email at email@example.com.
